Description:

SPRING OPEN HOUSE: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28, 2018 • 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Stanbridge is a caring, inclusive K–12 school in San Mateo for students with mild to moderate learning differences and social communication disorders.

Many, if not most, of our students, struggle with multiple challenges, including students diagnosed on the autism spectrum. We have found that this balance encourages students to benefit from their classmates' strengths and to respect their differences.

Stanbridge uses an individualized, whole student approach so that students thrive and develop their academic, social, executive function, and emotional capabilities to their fullest potential.

Small class sizes at all grade levels (8:1 max student-to-teacher ratio) allow for differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners. California content standards form the foundation of our curriculum.

The development of social-emotional, self-regulation and executive functioning skills are embedded into our curriculum and throughout the school day. All students participate in social learning classes once per week.

Our program integrates experiential learning through overnight and day trips, as well as on-campus assemblies and curriculum-based projects. We also provide a comprehensive school experience with electives, afterschool clubs, arts programs, and sports teams.

Transition counseling for our high school students and their families includes building life skills, preparing for college, and training for the workforce. Stanbridge also offers a post-secondary program for students needing additional assistance after graduating from high school.

Founded in 1982, Stanbridge Academy has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) since 1998. Stanbridge is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and is a provisional member of the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS).

Stanbridge Academy accepts applications for new students throughout the school year and offers a commute shuttle for students living in San Francisco, as well as those in the San Jose area.

More information can be found on our website where you can also request a personalized tour to visit our campus and learn more about our program.
