Chinese for Beginners (Grades 3-5)

This event occurs weekly, on Sunday.


In this class, students will build a foundation for Mandarin studies, using Pinyin for pronunciation in a supportive and playful environment. Lessons in Chinese culture will enhance the student experience, through the use of direct instruction, activities, online resources and Chinese brush-art calligraphy. Upon completion, students will be able to read simple Chinese and demonstrate improved pronunciation with a native accent. Students will be equipped to advance to the next level.


Instructor: Kristina Tao has a masters degree and a teaching credential in Mandarin. She has traveled and taught in China, Australia and the United States.


Cost: $195


Dates, time and location: Jan. 28, Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25 (five Sundays), 1-2:30 p.m.
