Check out this exhibition of more than 40 pioneering play spaces from throughout the world. Play spaces featured include towering treetop playgrounds, a scrapped ambulance transformed into a play hospital, and hand-knit crochet installations. The exhibit emphasizes the importance of play to childhood development, thriving communities and social equity. The exhibit includes playable installations, videos, scale models and hands-on elements. The display is presented by Design Museum San Francisco, Playworld, San Francisco Recreation & Parks and the San Francisco Library. Kids are invited to get creative, collaborate and design their own playground at a workshop June 24 (call for details).
