While prenatal yoga has proven to prepare the body physically for childbirth, there are a number of mental and emotional benefits as well. Emily is committed to bringing these benefits of yoga to women and their babies with loving support, knowledge and experience on Thursday evenings. A mixture of styles influences her teaching: students will find a challenge in a strength-building vinyasa flow leading to restorative poses that bring a nurturing relaxation. Mothers will have the opportunity to tune into the sensations of their bodies and cultivate a relationship with their babies before they are born. Drawing on her experience as a doula, Emily will help mothers to prepare for their birthing experiences and to build community as they practice together. Beginners and experienced yoginis alike will find value in her practice
