Labor is an athletic event and prenatal yoga can be thought of as training. In her Friday noon class, Jeanna combines prenatal education with a strength-building practice. Poses and movement to support optimal fetal positioning and comfort during pregnancy and labor are highlighted. Discussion on prenatal topics during the practice is welcome and encouraged. Pelvic floor awareness, mindfulness meditation as a labor coping tool, mild vinyasa, and practice to upbeat music is included in a typical class. This class is appropriate for all levels and most students will feel physically challenged.
