Email Graphic Designer

Duration: 5.5 - 6 months

Start date: As soon as possible

Bay Area Parent, a division of Dominion Enterprises, is seeking a temporary (30-35 hours a week for 5.5 – 6 months) email graphic designer. Bay Area Parent is the leader in the industry for reaching parents via print, web & at events in the Bay Area. Bay Area Parent is distributed online and in print in Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties with a combined reach of 314,000 parents and a local digital audience of 89,000. The position is based in the Campbell, CA headquarters.

Job Description: 

The candidate will be working under the production department for Bay Area Parent and Boston Parents Paper and will be responsible for the design, testing, proofing, scheduling, and monitoring of custom Email campaigns, weekly Enewsletters, website updates and contests for two parenting markets. The candidate will also be responsible for the creation of web and print ads. Must be able to execute creative concepts to produce finished working solutions, and interpret brand standards and adapt as needed. Also responsible for troubleshooting online issues and relaying that information to our IT department or computer programmer.

Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with using an Apple Mac.
  • Must be familiar with HTML, CSS, and Email marketing.
  • Proficient in all Adobe CS6 applications, specifically Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Indesign.
  • Must be detail-oriented, work under frequent interruption and be very organized.
  • Ability to produce products quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude in a fast-paced environment and under hard deadlines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot online issues quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Experience:

  • Should have at least one year experience creating Email using HTML and inline CSS and are familiar with Email CSS limitations.
  • Experience in print and web design.
  • Experience working under pressure and hard deadlines.

Media Sales Consultant

Bay Area Parent, the market leader reaching parents and families in the Bay Area, is seeking a full time media sales consultant. Distributed online and in print in Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties with a combined reach of 328,100 parents, Bay Area Parent continues to grow and expand, and we are seeking a media professional to help serve our advertisers.

This candidate will identify, develop, pitch, and execute a variety of advertising programs, which will include leveraging display ads, digital products and events. Job functions/responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Originate, manage and scale an ad sales pipeline sufficient for meeting revenue goals
  • Cultivate and pitch prospects, draft proposals, negotiate terms, and manage the contracting, review, and signature process for insertion orders
  • Develop and maintain a prospecting and targeting system and provide regular reporting
  • The ideal candidate has:
  • Minimum of 5 years in media sales, print and online ad sales experience preferred (we have the highest digital reach for parents in the area!)
  • Proven new business development skills in a competitive marketplace
  • An upbeat attitude and energetic with an aggressive approach to sales, devoted focus to customer service and a self starter
  • Salesforce or CRM experience a plus

  • Develop and maintain a prospecting and targeting system and provide regular reporting primarily through Salesforce
  • The ideal candidate has:
  • Minimum of 2 years in media sales in an outbound selling environment preferred
  • Proven new business development skills in a competitive marketplace
  • An upbeat attitude and energetic with an aggressive approach to sales, devoted focus to customer service and a self starter
  • Salesforce or CRM experience a plus
