San Francisco Ballet: The Nutcracker – The first Nutcracker in the United States premiered in San Francisco in 1944. American Conservatory Theater: A Christmas Carol – This acclaimed, music-infused adaptation of Dickens' beloved tale returns in a sumptuous production that's become one of the Bay Area's favorite holiday traditions. Happier Holidays at Pier 39 – The pier’s 60-foot Christmas tree transforms into a kaleidoscope of swirling colors, adorned with thousands of specialty lights and ornaments. Through Jan. 5. The Great Dickens Christmas Fair – The Great Dickens Christmas Fair is a one-of-a-kind holiday adventure into Victorian London – an elaborate party with hundreds of costumed players performing and interacting with patrons in more than 120,000 square feet of theatrically lit music halls, pubs, dance floors and Christmas shops. CuriOdyssey’s IlluminOdyssey – This is a winter light experience for kids. See four levels of walls, floors and ceilings come alive with radiant, moving color.
