Silicon Valley

Fiesta de Artes. Aug. 11-12. All your favorite features will be there, but with even more artists booths, food, wine, beer, and live music. You can also treat kids to snow cones and a jump house. FREE. Los Gatos.

19th Annual Art, Beer and Wine Festival. Aug. 18-19 This festival features local art, wineries, live music, micro breweries and a family midway. Scotts Valley.

Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. Aug. 25-26. More than 300 artists and crafters display their works at this event. There will also be live entertainment, an Italian street painting, expo, a kids’ art studio and more. FREE. Palo Alto.

SF, Marin & Peninsula

Aloha Festival. Aug. 11-12. This event features Pacific Islands music and dance, island food, arts and crafts, educational workshops and kids’ activities. FREE, parking is $15. San Mateo.

Polk Street Blues Festival. Aug. 18-19. This event showcases a variety of blues artists on two stages as well as a merchant marketplace, arts and crafts, food booths, a café seating area and more. FREE. San Francisco.

Sand Sculpture Contest. Aug. 26. Build a magnificent sand sculpture at Drakes Beach. Prizes will be awarded in several age and group categories. FREE. Point Reyes.

East Bay

Laurel Street Fair. Aug. 11. Celebrate one of Oakland’s unique neighborhoods at this outdoor festival featuring a children’s carnival, plenty of food and music, dancing, shopping and more. 11am-7pm. FREE. Oakland.

Sunset by the Lake. Aug. 19. Relax with the family during a summer concert series every other Sunday through Sept. 2. Tonight’s performance is by country music band The Bell Brothers. 6-8pm. FREE. Pleasant Hill.

Sundays at Hagemann.  Aug. 26. Come by Hagemann Ranch the last Sunday of the month for varying activities like hayrides, ice cream socials, vintage kids' games and crafts and more. August’s theme is theater and music. 1-4pm. FREE. Livermore.
