The San Jose Nutcracker – Presented in partnership with History San Jose, this version of the classical holiday ballet is uniquely San Jose. Mark Foehringer’s Nutcracker Sweets – This 50-minute magical and zany performance features dance storytelling with live music performed by a nine-piece orchestra. San Francisco Ballet: The Nutcracker – The first Nutcracker in the United States premiered in San Francisco in 1944. This favorite holiday production features snowflakes, dancing flowers and a little girl who dreams about a whole new world. For ages 3 and up only. Dec. 11-29. $25-439. San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band Dance-Along Nutcracker – This year’s theme will be Nutcrackers in Space. As usual, when the “Dance Along” sign flashes, the audience is invited to tug on their tutus and pirouette with the cast to Tchaikovsky’s beloved music. Dec. 7-8. Call for ticket prices.
