Holiday Trains and Drive-Throughs

See the holiday sights and lights from the comfort of your car or a festively decorated train.

Blinky’s Illuminated Holiday. Nov. 26-Jan. 9, 2022. Follow Blinky the Reindeer through a musical journey of his imagination in this drive-through synchronized light show hosted by Christmas in the Park. There will also be a holiday fair food festival. Lake Cunningham Park, entrance on Tully Road, San Jose. Purchase tickets in advance online. $30-75 per car.

Drive Thru Dickens’ London. Dec. 4-5, 11-12 and 18-19. This year’s Great Dickens Christmas Fair will be a drive-through affair in a newly envisioned outdoor Grand Concourse with multiple tableaux from A Christmas Carol, two stages of live entertainment, and a curated selection of delicious foods and handmade crafts from the fair available for purchase. There is also a free online experience with fireside readings and Victorian recipes, plus a chance to shop from home. Advance tickets required. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. $25 per vehicle (up to seven occupants; no oversize vehicles). Cow Palace Lower Exhibition Halls, 2600 Geneva Blvd., Daly City.

Fantasy of Lights. Dec. 4-5, 7-30. Experience thousands of twinkling lights and illuminated figures on a walk or drive on a 1.5-mile route through Vasona Lake County Park during this 23rd annual event. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. Walk-thru Dec. 4 and 5 from 4-9 p.m. $10 adult, $5 ages 4-12, 3 and under free; Drive-thru Dec. 7-30 (closed Dec. 25) from 6-10 p.m. $20 per vehicle (up to 12 people), $50 oversized vehicle (13-plus people). 333 Blossom Hill Road, Los Gatos.

Roaring Camp Railroad Holiday Train. Nov. 26-Dec. 23. Take an hour-long ride on a brightly decorated train as it rolls through the streets of Santa Cruz. Enjoy hot cider and sing along to carols as you await Santa. Select dates. $35 adults, $30 ages 2-12, 2 and under free. 400 Beach St., Santa Cruz.

Train of Lights. Nov. 19-Dec. 28. Niles Canyon Railway will again have its annual holiday trains decorated and running. Trains run Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and the Monday before Christmas and the Monday and Tuesday after Christmas at 4:30 p.m. from Fremont and 7:30 p.m. from Sunol. There will be no trains on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Purchase tickets in advance; the event usually sells out. $30 general seating, $60 for first-class parlor and dome cars, $650 to reserve a caboose.
