Lunar New Year Celebration in Livermore – Celebrate the Year of the Rat with traditional dancing, demonstrations, food and crafts. San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade – Celebrate the Year of the Rat and this event come rain or shine. The Community Fair runs Sat., Feb. 8-Sun., Feb. 9 on Grant Avenue from California to Broadway. It features 120 booths and concessions, Chinese folk dancing, opera, performances and more. The parade is Feb. 8 and typically starts at 5:15pm and begins at Second and Market streets. This nighttime illuminated event is one of the biggest Chinese New Year celebrations outside Asia. The event features colorful floats, elaborate costumes, ferocious lions, exploding fireworks and Miss Chinatown and her court. FREE.
Community Day: Lunar New Year 2020 — The San Jose Museum of Art welcomes the Year of the Rat with artmaking activities, cultural demonstrations and live performances.
