If you’re looking for ways to celebrate Dad and other father figures on their special day, here are some great ideas. As always, check before heading out. Cancelations and changes can occur.

Father’s Day Car Show at the Blackhawk Museum

JUNE 18. From classic cars to hod rods, the second annual Jon Snyder Memorial Car Show will have something for everyone. There will also be live music and family-friendly activities. 8am-2pm. FREE to attend. $40 in advance to register a car, $50 at the show.

Open Cockpit Day

JUNE 18. Get up close and see what it’s like inside a variety of aircraft at the Oakland Aviation Museum’s Open Cockpit Day. The day also includes a color guard, food, train exhibit, Ham Radio exhibit and demonstration and more. 10am-4pm. $10-18, 4 and under FREE.

King of the County Barbecue & Music Festival

JUNE 16-18. Celebrate with Dad at this weekend-long festival featuring barbecue food, live music, carnival rides, kids’ activities, arts and crafts and more. Fri. 5-9pm, Sat. 11am-8pm, Sun. 11am-6pm. FREE.

Oakland Athletics Game

JUNE 18. It’s Hawaiian shirt giveaway day on Father’s Day at the Oakland A’s home game against the Phillies. 1:07pm. $19-370.

North Beach Festival

JUNE 17-18. Celebrate with Dad in the historic North Beach district at this festival featuring food, live entertainment, acrobats, Italian street art, blessing of the animals and more. 10am-6pm. FREE.

Native Contemporary Arts Festival

This annual Father’s Day event at Yerba Buena Gardens celebrates the creativity of North America’s indigenous people showcasing native music, dance, spoken word, visual artists, crafts and vendors. 12-3pm.FREE.

Stern Grove Festival

JUNE 18-AUG. 20. In its 86th season, the Stern Grove Festival is kicking off on Father’s Day with a performance by jazz collective Snarky Puppy. This year, the festival will be returning to its home at Sigmund Stern Grove after damage from flooding. The festival is free, but attendees must receive a ticket on the website. 2pm. FREE.

Father’s Day Steam Train

JUNE 18. Salute Dad by treating him to lunch and a ride on the Roaring Camp Redwood Forest Steam Train. Enjoy live music at the barbecue where Humble Sea will be pouring local brew for sale. Dad will receive a complimentary engineer’s cap with the purchase of a train ticket and any barbecue platter meal. Check website for information about the Father’s Day Brew Train departing from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Trains leave at 10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm. $29.95-44.95.
