Now in our 16th Season. This summer, have amazing adventures on Donner Summit! We offer two camps: Adventure Camp and Climbing Camp.
Adventure Camp
Adventure Camp is the place to be for summertime fun! Give your kids the opportunity of a lifetime, participating in adventures from rock climbing, mountain biking and swimming to learning about the natural history of the area and more with Gateway Mountain Center’s professional instructors. Whatever your child’s skill level is, our experienced guides meet them where they are to build new skills and confidence each day. Learning how to access spectacular mountain terrain is a formative experience that gives them a lifetime all access pass to connect with the wild places still left on our beautiful big blue planet. Our guides are First Aid/CPR certified and fully background checked.

Climbing Camp
We offer personalized instruction within a supportive group setting. Climbers will learn the safety fundamentals: belaying, anchoring and rappelling; while honing their technique with world-class movement coaching! Many of our expert, credentialed guides are world class mountaineers with first ascents or world records. These are overnight camps; we lodge at the historic Oakland Ski Club on Donner Summit. The camaraderie, games and evening storytelling are classic. Enjoy BIG SUMMER DAYS of climbing, swimming in alpine lakes, and shooting the rapids of the “Truckee” on our whitewater rafting rest day. Whether you’ve never climbed outside the gym or you are a real-rock master, this camp will enhance your climbing techniques on cracks, slabs and steep faces. Our guides are First Aid/CPR and AMGA certified and fully background checked.
