Alameda Summer Movies

THROUGH SEPT. 26. Alameda’s Parks and Recreation Department hosts an outdoor movies series this summer. It will show “Mufasa: The Lion King” on Aug. 22. There are games and crafts for kids at 6:30 pm before the movie. The movie begins between 8:15-8:45pm. FREE.

Berkeley Outdoor Movies

THROUGH SEPT. 12. This month, Berkeley’s Parks and Recreation Department shows “Despicable Me 4” on Aug. 8 at 8:15pm in Cedar Rose Park and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” on Aug. 22 at 8pm in Grove Park. Check website for other showings. FREE.

Danville Music in the Park

AUG. 2. Danville wraps up its Music in the Park series with Maroon Vibes, a Maroon 5 tribute band. Food and beverages are permitted, and guests can bring blankets and chairs. Parking is available at the Village Theatre and Front Street parking lots. 6pm. FREE.

Filoli’s Summer Stage

AUG. 17. Enjoy a fusion of bluegrass and hip hop from Gangstagrass as part of Filoli Historic House & Garden’s Summer Stage concert series. Check website for other Summer Stage concerts. 7-8:30pm. $55 general admission, $125 VIP.

Free Movie Nights Under the Stars

The Viva Parks Association’s movie series showings include “The Garfield Movie” on Aug. 7 at Rubino Park, “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” on Aug. 14 at Kelly Park, “Moana 2” on Aug. 21 at Brigadoon Park, and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” on Aug. 28 at Calahan Park. AUG. 9. Redwood City will end its Kids Rock series with James Henry’s House of Samba Kids, a master percussionist who gets kids moving, grooving and learning through rhythm, percussion and global beats. 10am-12pm. FREE.
