Before school gets underway, it’s a good time to catch some of the community concerts and outdoor movies happening this month around the Bay Area.

THROUGH SEPT. 26. Alameda’s Parks and Recreation Department hosts an outdoor movies series this summer. It will show “Mufasa: The Lion King” on Aug. 22. There are games and crafts for kids at 6:30 pm before the movie. The movie begins between 8:15-8:45pm. FREE.
