Children’s Discovery Museum San Jose Lunar New Year

FEB. 7. The Children’s Discovery Museum San Jose brings Chinese and Vietnamese traditions to life at its celebration. The event includes hands-on activities like making beautiful blossom art, folding your own origami snake and coloring a colorful lion mask. Also enjoy live performances and engaging storytimes. 9:30am-4:30pm. $18 general admission, $16 seniors.

Children’s Fairyland Lunar New Year Celebration

FEB. 7-8. Enjoy lion dance performances and lessons, sweet treats sampling, Playdough “wonton” making and more. 10am-4pm. $19 general admission, $17 kids.

Cultural Celebration for the Lunar New Year

Millbrae Lunar New Year Festival

FEB. 14-15.The event includes lion dancing performances, a multicultural performance stage, family activities, bounce houses, food, firecracker displays and more.

Oakland Little Saigon Tết Festival

FEB. 15. Enjoy Asian dishes, cultural performances and a lively marketplace filled with unique crafts and gifts. Traditional attire like áo dài and other cultural outfits is encouraged. 12-5pm. FREE.

OMCA Celebrates the Year of the Horse

FEB. 21. Oakland Museum of California celebrates Lunar New Year traditions through family-friendly storytelling, performances, activities and more. Festival access starts at 11am; activities and performances start at 12pm. Parking is available in OMCA’s Oak Street Garage for a day rate of $10; overflow event parking is available at Alco Park (165 13th Street) for the day rate of $7.

San Francisco Symphony Lunar New Year

FEB. 28. This annual San Francisco Symphony event draws upon Asian traditions, past and present, in a celebration of music and community. 5pm. $49-89.

Zodiac on Parade

FEB. 7-MARCH 15. Part of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of San Francisco’s celebrations, it features a series of artistically designed zodiac statues placed across San Francisco, celebrating the Lunar New Year while highlighting the city’s cultural and artistic diversity. The San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade
is scheduled for March 7 from 5-9pm.
