Park Day School is a K-8 co-ed independent progressive school located in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood. The school day begins at 8:30am/8:45am and ends at 3:15pm/3:30pm depending on grade level. Extended day programming is offered beginning at 7:30am and ending at 6pm.
Park Day School’s mission is to prepare students to be informed, courageous, and compassionate people who shape a more equitable and sustainable world. We have a robust interdisciplinary academic program with an emphasis on social justice and social emotional learning.
Students at Park Day learn by doing and are encouraged to follow their own curiosity. Developing intrinsic motivation is a key component of our program. Curriculum is intended to teach young people how to find satisfaction through development and mastery of academic challenges rather than from outside rewards, and to develop a lifelong love of learning.
Annual Tuition Range: $1,700 to $34,400
