More About Star Kids Academy

Join us this summer for a robotics, coding, and engineering camp experience of a lifetime! Star Kids Academy offers various themes throughout the summer so students can attend one or all camps we offer without repeated content. Students will enter workshops for engineering humanoid robotics, autonomous vehicles, battle bots, ecosystem robots, axis robotic arms, and more… Read about our themes below!

Robotics Gaming! – The Robotics Gaming Camp will give students the experience to engineer and program robotics to be used within various games, from Rocket League and Plank Battles, to Ultimate Wally’s World and Robot Olympics, FLL challenges, and more. Students will be using the Spike platform, VEX platform, and EV3 for some of the more robust gaming. Students build up to two/three builds as well as adaptations and upgrades to their robots for the competitions.

CarBots! – Students will learn to program and understand the basic engineering of autonomous vehicles and self-driving cars. Students will use various sensors to sense the environment and learn to program the vehicles to behave independently and avoid obstacles around them.

Animatronics! – Students will learn to engineer and program humanoid robotics, eye movement in animatronics, and robotic hands. Coding of humanoid robotics range from sequencing step-by-step movements to basic machine learning algorithms.

ArmBots! – Students will learn to engineer and program 3/6-axis robotic arms. Complexity depends on grade level, from 3 axis arms to complex 6-axis KUKA robotics. Students will solve real-world challenges with autonomous factory production missions and scenarios.

BattleBots! – Students will learn to engineer and program various types of robotic machines for battle bots and robotic SUMO. Students will learn engineering for stability and speed in the battle arena, as well as learning autonomous programming for SUMO.

EcoBots! – Students will learn to engineer and program robotics to interact with science and nature experiments. Students will use sensors to sense environments and program autonomous behaviors to adapt to various weather conditions.

Competition! – Students will learn to engineer and program robotics for FLL and VEX Robotics competition. Students will have simulated robotics competition events that replicate real VEX and FLL robotics competition rules, regulations, scoring, teams, and more.

“Star Kids Academy is really doing such an amazing job teaching our kids to become future geniuses!

-Andrew Nguyen (Mac-Central)”

“Thank you for putting together such a wonderful class, I know how much Lucas enjoyed it. He is now asking for one of the robots you use in class for Christmas. He enjoys your class, and I know he wants to continue in the future. Thanks again for putting together a great program!

Regards, Tom”

“I wanted to say thank you to you guys for making this event a huge success. Both, parents and the kids just loved your workshop 🙂 I will definitely get in touch with you if I have any requirements in future. Thanks again to you and your team.. 🙂

My son Vincent loves your enrichment class at Nixon Elementary in Palo Alto. Please have him on your waiting list for the fall classes!

Roxana (Parent)”

“Your class opened new horizons for my kid. My wife gained interest in robotics due to this class as well which landed her a new job as a robot handler! You guys do an awesome job, please keep robotics and coding available for kids.

“Loved the awesome exposure that my son got with robotics and programming. Hands on experience with different platforms was invaluable. Thanks for bringing this class to the library. A huge hit!

“My child really enjoyed Jr. Robotics. Would like to see this class come back again. Instructor was great and friendly.

“My two children greatly enjoyed the robotics class over the past two months. I as a parent have also enjoyed watching them experience coding, engineering, and robotics for the first time. We feel so lucky to have been able to attend such a wonderful program.

“This has been an awesome learning experience for my daughter. The teacher is very good with kids and encourages her.

“A great experience for my daughter that has helped her have a bit more patience. She is very enthusiastic about this program.

“Thank you for providing us the opportunity to avail of the scholarship and for enriching and broadening students’ experiences. My children really enjoyed their first class with Mr. JD on Tuesday.
